I heard that if you work when the polls are open your employers are legally required to allow you to leave so you can vote. It’s against the law for anyone to prevent you from voting. It’s definitely something worth looking into.
While this is true, it would require me to cancel class. We don’t get substitutes in college and I can’t in good conscience cancel class. I may be able to do an absentee ballot though, and I can do that tomorrow. I just have to look up what qualifies for an absentee ballot.
