Teachers get too much grief from my past experience. My senior year English teacher often complained to me about how none of the students cared, and it was awful because he cared so much…I wish students would appreciate their teachers more.
I have found that most students really appreciate their teachers after the fact. I’m mostly teaching developmental mathematics at a community college, so the major focus of my job is preparing students for higher level courses. I am happy knowing that I have done that to the best of my ability. I hear back from students all the time with thanks after they have moved on, and that always makes me happy.
