I believe that honesty started trumping manners when people stopped caring whose feelings they hurt.
I agree. There is also a healthy dose of saying something online that you wouldn’t dream of saying in person. The particular case today went from mildly inappropriate to wildly inappropriate in two seconds flat, all in the name of “honesty.”
